Tukan Dance is the creation of Tom Gatley, a long-time filmmaker, music producer and DJ. Currently based in Greater Manchester, Tukan Dance was originally begun with a focus on promoting electronic music artists through monthly mixes, clothing and sharing on soundcloud.

Tom's work has been featured on numerous public platforms, from DMC World Magazine to the Cannes Short Film Corner and International Sound and Film Music Festival in Croatia. Not only that, he was also the filmmaker and composer behind an internationally acclaimed Sci-Fi feature film 'Expiry' released by Hollywood's number one independent distributor Cineverse.

It is now time to give back by providing a comfortable setting and high level sound mixing for the other artists out there. We aim to provide a space for DJ's, filmmakers and musicians to create in a peaceful setting, only a 30-minute train ride from the hustle and bustle of city life.

I co-produced Tom's debut feature film Expiry - an intimate sci-fi about a couple prevented from touching by an oppressive ruling authority in our not-too-distant future.
Tom's story was eerily prescient of the separation felt by many during the isolation of the Covid-19 Pandemic that followed the launch of Expiry, and as such the film has found favour with post-Pandemic audiences who were prevented from seeing their loved ones during lockdown.

My first short film ‘Reminders’ which Tom edited and created sound design for won a number of prestigious awards including semi-finalist at New York film festival and winner at Kansas Art house festival. He also edited and created sound design on a short poetry film that this year won the Deanna Tulley multimedia prize. He is extremely reliable, creative and committed to making work of a very high standard. His previous films are stand out films and have been crafted with much thought and care, which shines through creatively. I wish him all the best for a very successful future.
